My youth hockey career consisted of me playing all levels in between B and AA hockey. My sophomore year of high school I decided to attend a prep school called Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh, PA. We played in the MPHL. I made the 1st prep team my first year and became a starter my junior and senior year. Overall I had a .907 SV% and a 2.98 GAA. My first year of juniors I played for the Palm Beach Hawks in the USPHL Elite division. I was one of three goalies on the team and didn’t get much playing time, but I still had a .919 save average and a 2.95 goals against average. For my second year of juniors I spent the first half of the year playing for the Fort Frances Lakers in the SIJHL, but ended up finishing the year with the Cambridge Winter Hawks in the GOJHL. It was a much better fit for me in Cambridge and I enjoyed a lot of success on the ice.
Years as a MGS Student: 3
Years as a MGS Coach: 1
Favorite Goalie: Jonathan Quick. I love his compete level
What type of coach are you: Fun, but demanding
Best game played: 1-0 loss to Elmira. Even though it was a loss, I rose to the occasion against the number one team in my league and gave us a chance to win.
Favorite brand of goalie gear: Vaughn. They make quality gear that I have used my entire goaltending career.
Most important lesson hockey taught you: Work hard, but have fun doing it.
Why is being a goalie hard: The mental strength needed to play the position and manage the highs and lows is unmatched in my opinion
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: As much as I would like to still be playing competitive it may or may not work out for me. If I’m not still playing hockey I see myself doing neurology.
